In 1887, Frank H. Nott was founded in Richmond, VA.

Originally located on Brook Road, the company grew from a single man outfit to a 3 shift operation serving the public as well as many commercial and industrial accounts.

Over the years the company developed innovative processes  improving the recovery of materials, while remaining environmentally friendly. The firm has a rich history as stewards of the community leading scrap metal drives that fed the manufacturing efforts of WWI and WWII. Following these conflicts it focused on converting wartime materials for civilian use. As part of its core values the Nott family remains dedicated to a spirit of giving through supporting local charities.

After 4 generations of Nott’s running the company, in 1991 the original Frank H Nott company was sold to an outside corporation.

In 1999 David Nott established Nott Recycling, Inc at its current location 5317 Old Midlothian Turnpike Richmond, starting as a small retail location and once again growing.
